Ecumenical Patriarch, Bartholomew and Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Ieronymos attended the inauguration of a geriatric research center and elderly care unit in Dilesi, Greece
On Thursday, May 23, 2019, the Ecumenical Patriarch, Bartholomew and the Primate of the Church of Greece, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Ieronymos, attended the inauguration of a geriatric research center and elderly care unit, which is funded and operated by the Archdiocese of Athens. Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos also attended the inauguration. The new center is located in the coastal town of Dilesi, due north of Athens in Viotia prefecture.
A day earlier, on Wednesday evening, the Ecumenical Patriarch used the well-known adage of “…blood being thicker than water” to describe his meeting with Ieronymos.
“We had a good and fruitful discussion with His Beatitude, my brother, Archbishop Ieronymos. It was our first meeting since certain woes arose between us. This is human nature. We must have the strength to overcome and persevere for the good of the Church,” Bartholomew said.
