Solemn Translation of Axion Esti to Athens postponed

Members of the Permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece on Wednesday issued a decision to postpone the Translation of the Holy Icon Axion Esti to Athens this month.
Hierarchs of the Church of Greece expressed their concern over the timing of the Translation of the Wonder-working Icon to the Greek capital, amid a current wave of protests in the city’s center, with a new date to be decided in consultation with the Holy Community of Mount Athos.
