Hagia Sophia: Cathedrals of the Holy Wisdom Around the World’ jointly presented at Holy Metropolis of Limassol

The volume “Hagia Sophia: Cathedrals of the Holy Wisdom Around the World”, was jointly presented on Sunday at the ceremonial hall of the Holy Metropolis of Limassol, by the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, the Republic of Cyprus’ House of Representatives and the resident Metropolis.
The volume focuses on the 37 cathedrals around the world dedicated to the Holy Wisdom of God, including two Cypriot Orthodox churches, one in Nicosia and the other in Paphos.

The detailed book also showcases the insolent and scandalous re-conversion of the iconic Hagia Sophia Basilica in Constantinople into a mosque by the Erdogan regime.

In a welcoming statement, the Church of Cyprus’ Metropolitan of Limassol, His Grace Athanasios, noted that “…for nearly 50 years we are witnessing, with pain and anguish, the desecration and destruction of our Holy Cathedrals and monuments in our occupied homeland.”

The Inter-parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy is an institution based in Athens, established in 1993 at the initiative of Greece’s parliament and comprised of Orthodox Christian lawmakers from Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and Australia.
