His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga presided over a meeting about the challenges of the Orthodox Mission and Orthodox Christianity
On Thursday, June 6, 2019, on the commemoration of the Holy Ascension of Our Lord , His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga presided over a meeting with the clergy from the Orthodox Church deaneries of Central and All western Uganda. This instrumental meeting was organized with the aim of discussing on the various ways in which the different challenges of the Orthodox Mission and Orthodox Christianity in general can be addressed. During this meeting, the Archbishop commended the work of the: Uganda Orthodox Church Care for HIV/AIDS and Population Program (UOCCAP) for clearly educating both the Clergy and the Christians on the issues regarding health and stability in the families through sensitisation on; HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence, Teenage Pregnancy etc. In Conclusion, a Pastoral letter indicating the position of the Church on above problems was signed and passed by all clergy present for use in all Orthodox parishes in Uganda.
