Russian Church’s Metropolitan of Volokolamsk meets with Russian ambassador to Greece

The Russian Orthodox Patriarchate’s Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, His Eminence Hilarion, on Wednesday was received by the Russian ambassador to Greece, Alexander Maslov.

Hilarion is on a tour of Greece, aimed in part, to brief Greek Church hierarchs over the Moscow Patriarchate’s standing opposition to the granting of Autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

His Eminence, who also heads up the Russian Church’s department for external relations, conveyed the best wishes of the Russian Patriarch, His Holiness Kirill, to Amb. Maslov. Discussions also touched on the presence of Russian nationals living and working in Greece.
