Adoration of the Holy Cross celebrated at Cathedral of St. Nicholas of Cairo

The feast of the Adoration of the Holy Cross was solemnly celebrated on Sunday at the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, in the Hamzawi district of Cairo.

The Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, officiated at the Orthros and Divine Liturgy, accompanied by Metropolitans of the Patriarchal throne.

In addressing the congregants, His Most Divine Beatitude noted that “…I would like to dedicate today’s celebration to our brothers who suffer in Ukraine and especially in the city I love, Odessa. We will not judge today, but we will pray that unity will come among them. We pray that the Holy Cross, which both peoples’ worship and rejoice, to give them justice, so that Holy Easter may come in peace.”
