Another two new Metropolitans of Church of Greece elected on Fri.

Hierarchs of the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece on Friday elected another two new Metropolitans to fill the vacant thrones for the ecclesiastic jurisdiction of Drama, in northern Greece, and Ilia, in southwest Greece.

Specifically, Archimandrite Dorotheos was elected as the new Metropolitan of Drama, while the Bishop of Oleni, His Grace Athanasios, was elected as the new Metropolitan of Ilia.

A day earlier, the Holy Synod, presided over by the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, elected Archimandrite Nikiforos as the new Metropolitan of Gortynia and Megaloupoli, while Archimandrite Damaskinos was elected as the new Metropolitan of Aetolia and Akarnania.
