Archbishop Elpidophoros hosts “Thank You Dinner” for Clergy-Laity volunteers
On the evening of June 29, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America hosted a “Thank You Dinner” for the dedicated committee members and volunteers who contributed to the organization of the Clergy-Laity Congress. The gathering offered an opportunity to recognize the many individuals whose quiet labor and dedication will make a lasting impact on this year’s Congress.
Congress Co-Chairs John and Effie Trihas offered deep thanks to their committee chairs, recognizing them for their sacrifice and dedication over the past year.
In his remarks, Archbishop Elpidophoros also expressed heartfelt appreciation for the countless hours of service offered by volunteers, noting that the spirit of the Congress is sustained the commitment and generosity of those working behind the scenes.
“All of you, who have volunteered your time and resources to make this Clergy-Laity the success we all know that it will be, are like these Builders of the Holy City, each with your skills and, most importantly, your devotion,” Archbishop Elpidophoros said. “I am so very grateful to you all, and I thank you for your incredible contributions.”
A highlight of the evening came as His Eminence presented gifts to several individuals for their exceptional dedication to the planning of the Congress. Among those honored were Chancellor of the Metropolis of Pittsburgh Fr. George Callos; Treasurer of the Archdiocese Elaine Allen; Director of Administration for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Maria Andriotis; Director of Internet Ministries Jamil Samara; Metropolis of Pittsburgh Administrative Assistant Louse Henry, Vice-Chair of the Metropolis Council Nick Lekas and Metropolis Philoptochos President Joyce Spanakis. The Archbishop also praised Director of Special Events for the Archdiocese Fr. Evagoras Constantinides for his leadership in planning this Congress.
The evening unfolded in a celebratory atmosphere, marked by fellowship, renewed commitment, and shared purpose. As the gathering concluded, those present were ready for the week ahead, knowing that the success of the Congress rests in the hands and hearts of its faithful volunteers.
