Archbishop Elpidophoros meets with the Priests and Parish Councils of two parishes in the New York area
NEW YORK – His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America welcomed to the Archdiocese, the newly appointed Priest, Rev. Archimandrite Chrysostomos Panos and the Parish Council of the Greek Orthodox Church of Transfiguration in Corona, NY, consisting of President Mr. Anastasios Koularmanis and Board Members Lori Vergos, Peter Stasinos, John Tiliakos, Emmanuel Mousis, Michael Filacouris, Leo Stavrinou, James Stathopoulos, Frank Kontogiannis and Aristides Tzannetis.
During their meeting they discussed a number of issues including the finances of the Parish, the ongoing reconstruction project and received the blessing of His Eminence for a successful completion of the project before Pascha. The Parish assured His Eminence of a swift completion of the project including periodic progress reports. Fr. Chrysostomos also stressed the importance of continuing the Liturgical life of the Parish and announced a plan to resume Divine Liturgies in an adjacent space as soon as possible.
Archbishop Elpidophoros expressed his deep appreciation to the Parish and stressed that they have his full confidence to bring the Church building to completion.
Archbishop Elpidophoros also welcomed to the Archdiocese the Priest, Protopresbyter Nicolas Kazarian and the Parish Council of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Eleftherios of Manhattan consisting of President Marina Thomatos and Board Members Lambrini Galiatsatou, Peter Angelo Thomatos, Panagiotis Ioannides, Dionysios Thomatos and Steve Hlampeas.
During their meeting, they discussed a number of items relevant to the Parish, specifically expanding the ministry initiatives and outreach into the local community with a specific focus on our Young Adults.
Archbishop Elpidophoros expressed his deep appreciation to the Parish Council for their efforts to expand and grow this historic Parish of our Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.
