Archbishop Elpidophoros of America at the Phanar
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, serving as a member of the Holy Synod, was welcomed today at the Ecumenical Patriarchate by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. His Eminence presented His All-Holiness with a gift of a Hierarchal Pendant, or engolpion, which featured the icon of the Apokethelosis, when the Virgin Mary beheld the body of Christ as He was taken off of the Cross. Accompanying His Eminence is Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Evagoras Constantinides of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Brooklyn.
