Archbishop Elpidophoros: Pride felt by Archdiocese of America for rebuilt, resurrected St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine

The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, on Sunday spoke and participated in a memorial service at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in New York City on the very dour occasion of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Archbishop Elpidophoros told congregants that “…We are gathered on this solemn and painful day in order to remember our loved ones, who, 21 years ago, were so unjustly and cruelly taken from us. September 11th is a day that shall never be forgotten.

We stand together in solidarity for their memory, and for the memory of all those lost that day, as well as in the days and years afterward, because of their service on the Hallowed Ground we know as Ground Zero.”

His Eminence also referred to the pride felt by the Archdiocese of America for the rebuilt and resurrected St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine, whose interior, as he noted, is “…being infused with the living images of our Faith, replete with tributes to those who gave their last full measure.”
