Archbishop Elpidophoros visits Saint George Church in Kingston, New York
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America celebrated the 2nd Salutations to the Theotokos at Saint George Church in Kingston, NY on Friday, March 6, 2026 where he was welcomed by parish priest Fr. Jim Kordaris and the community. In his homily, the Archbishop stated:
“In the midst of the Holy Season of the Fast, we are called to ‘rejoice’ in the Virgin. This can be a radical shift in our perspective that the Akathist Hymn offers us, regardless of our circumstances. In faith, and through faith, it is possible to look beyond and to glimpse the reality of Heaven and earth. In the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, Heaven and earth are united in her womb. She is the meeting place of God and truly, of every human being, because she is the place where the encounter becomes incarnate.”
