Archbishop Makarios of Australia takes action to help Greek Studies
Yesterday, Archbishop Makarios met with the Committee for the Support of the Modern Greek Studies Program at LaTrobe University in Melbourne.
He provided a blessing for its endeavours and having already been informed of its activities asked in what further way he can assist and support it. Archbishop Makarios pledged to do all he can to ensure the future of Modern Greek at a tertiary level in Victoria. He noted that all community stakeholders must coordinate their efforts so that a united approach is effected.
A number of meetings have been taking place from within the Greek community in a coordinated effort to help save the program which is in danger of termination.
