Archbishop of America Elpidophoros attends annual New Year’s cake-cutting dinner in Rye, New York
The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, on Sunday attended an annual Vasilopita, or New Year’s cake-cutting dinner at the Orthodox Church of the Savior in Rye, New York.
In addressing assembled clergymen and their families, His Eminence said, “Being with you tonight is such an inspiring image, both for the present and future of the Archdiocese. We have completed the first century, a great century but it was only the beginning.”
Two days earlier, His Eminence had given the invocation at the investiture of Michael Amiridis, the new president of the University of South Carolina, held in the city of Columbia.
