Archbishop of Athens warns of attempts to eliminate Christianity from Greek education

The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, on Sunday blessed the New Year’s cake-cutting event of the Society of Graduates of the “Helleniki Pedia” Schools.
Helleniki Pedia means Greek education.

His Beatitude fondly remembered his days as an educator and referred to the difficult task that teachers have. He also lamented what he called efforts in the modern era to eliminate every religious symbol from schools, warning of attempts to eliminate Christianity from Greek education.
