Archbishop of Australia hosts dinner for the Australian Ambassador to Greece
On Wednesday, 23 July, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia warmly welcomed the Australian Ambassador to Greece, Ms. Alison Duncan, to the Archdiocesan Residence in Sydney.
His Eminence hosted a dinner in honour of the Australian diplomat, at which His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, the Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christophoros Krikelis, Archdeacon Athinagoras and the Sub-Dean of Saint Andrew’s Theological College, Dr. Philip Kariatlis, with his wife, also attended.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, issues of common interest were discussed, with emphasis on the bonds of friendship that have long connected the peoples of Greece and Australia, as well as on the decisive contribution of the large Greek diaspora on the fifth continent.

Both Archbishop Makarios and Ambassador Duncan expressed their commitment to the common goal of strengthening and deepening relations between the two countries, and declared their willingness for good cooperation in this direction.

Finally, His Eminence thanked Ms. Duncan for her honorary visit and wished her continued success in carrying out her diplomatic duties in Greece.
