Archbishop of Australia Makarios issues stern statement amid current debate on abortion

The Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, issued a statement on the occasion of debate taking place over recent days over the emotional issue of abortion, especially after a recent decision of the US Supreme Court.

Taking to his personal Instagram account, Archbishop Makarios noted that “…All of you who are reading this message, at this present moment, should thank God that whilst your mother was pregnant, she did not only consider her own rights. She thought of her obligation and maternal responsibility which allowed for her to keep the child in her womb, giving this child the chance to be born. Your mother fulfilled her duty.”
