Archdiocesan District Clergy Syndesmos Held in Greenlawn, NY

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, the Archdiocesan District Clergy Syndesmos was held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church in Greenlawn, NY. Following the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, the clergy of the District heard a presentation from the National Archdiocesan Chancellor, His Grace Bishop Nektarios of Diokleia, who offered updates on various ministries of the Archdiocese, with particular emphasis on “FREEDOM,” the newly established national ministry dedicated to assisting victims of human trafficking.

The Archdiocesan District Chancellor, the Rev. Protopresbyter Elias Villis, provided updates on several important events, including the anticipated Fall visit of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the United States, and the upcoming Archdiocesan Presbyters Council retreat.

In addition to several ministry updates, the clergy extended congratulations to the organizers of the recent Servant Leadership Awards Banquet, along with all the recipients who were honored for their service and dedication.

A thoughtful discussion also took place regarding the Sacrament of Marriage and the sanctity of all the sacred services of the Greek Orthodox Church. Fr. Peter Orfanakos, President of the Clergy Syndesmos, affirmed that “we as clergy are overjoyed to prepare our faithful for all the Sacraments of the Church, and by the grace of the Holy Spirit, we are eager to join together in the education and promotion of these sacred practices.”
