Archdiocese of America unveils special Doxology service for bicentennial commemoration of Greek War of Independence

The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, on Monday convened a Holy Eparchial Synod – via teleconference – which mostly focused on preparation for the bicentennial of the commencement of the Greek War of Independence.

Hierarchs of the Eparchial Synod approved a special Doxology Service, to be officiated by the Archbishop, to mark the commemoration.

The service, in Greek and English, will be available for celebration by the Holy Metropolises and Parishes of the Archdiocese of America.

Additionally, an archepiscopal and synodical encyclical will be published for the historic anniversary for the Greek nation and Greek-Americans.
