The Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain has expressed its gratitude to the His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew regarding the election of Bishop Athanasios as Metropolitan of Colognia.

The announcement of the Archdiocese reads:

“Having learned of the election of His Grace Bishop Athanasios of Tropaeou as the Metropolitan of the once-illustrious Metropolitanate of Colognia, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain gives thanks to Almighty God and expresses its gratitude to the His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for honouring Metropolitan Athanasios for his many years of service to Christ and His Church.”
