Archons in Canada Sponsor “Saint Paisios” at Greek Film Festival
The annual Greek International Film Festival Tour of Canada (GIFFT) will take place between September 24th and October 4th this year.
The successful GIFFT, led by its President and Executive Director, Mr. Stanley Papulkas, will showcase multiple films across 10 Canadian cities.
One of the films is the highly anticipated “Saint Paisios” directed by Mr. Stamos Tsamis and based on the hit TV series “Saint Paisios: From Farasa to Heaven.”
The Ecumenical Patriarchate Archons in Canada (EPAC) are pleased to be one of the presenting sponsors for this film.
St. Paisios the Athonite, who is one of the most beloved contemporary saints of Orthodoxy, spent his life on Mount Athos, which is under the spiritual jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. In 2015, the Holy and Sacred Synod, under the Presidency of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, officially registered Elder Paisios into the catalogue of Orthodox Saints.
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Canada, together with the EPAC, sincerely congratulate the GIFFT and Mr. Papulkas for working to bring this worthy film to Canada for the benefit and spiritual edification of Christians across the country.
