Athens condemns latest instance of vandalism of Christian site in Jerusalem

Greece’s foreign ministry this week condemned the latest vandalism in the Holy Land against a Christian place of worship.
The statement refers to the incursion into a property owned by the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the desecration of a chapel there by members of a Jewish seminary.

The statement read, “…We expect appropriate action to be taken by the competent Israeli authorities to investigate the incident, bring those responsible to justice and prevent similar illegal actions from happening again in the future. Greece has consistently expressed its interest in the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Holy Shrines that are included in the established Status Quo of the Holy Land.”
