A precious reliquary stolen from the St. Mamas Cathedral in Turkish-occupied Morphou, on Cyprus, has been returned by an auction house that was about to sell-off the stolen object.

The reliquary is dated to 1835, and contains the holy relics of Cypriot and other saints.

An intervention by the Orthodox Metropolis of Morphou was instrumental in first blocking the auction and then obtaining the return of the religious artifact.
