BE MORE CAREFUL OF COVID 19! THE CHURCH AS A MOTHER WELCOMES AND PRAYS FOR ALL
By the grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, His Grace Bishop Silvester Kisitu recovered from #COVID19 and celebrated his very first liturgy at St. Nicholas Cathedral Namungoona after a month of battling with the virus.
In his experience while in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Bishop was greatly concerned with a high number of patients that required intensive care services but the ratio of patient to the available equipment was so inadequate hence he personally witnessed several death scenarios.
It was on this concern that he urged all People to BE MORE CAREFUL OF COVID 19. He also called on the government to take concern in provision of adequate medical services and equipment in hospitals not only government hospitals but also in some way aid the private hospitals to have the necessary equipment at manageable costs to help save lives of innocent Ugandans that die on a daily due to inadequacy of such services. In that same line, he also urged the private hospitals to open up and accept Covid 19 Patients because chasing them is not a solution, rather finding ways of accommodating them and treating them.
During the Holy Liturgy, His grace also prayed for Presidential Candidate Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi Wine who had come to join us in prayer at the Cathedral. The Bishop welcomed him and noted that THE CHURCH AS A MOTHER WELCOMES AND PRAYS FOR ALL. He prayed that the Will of our Lord may be manifested in the forthcoming elections so that we may witness a peaceful electoral process for the growth and development of our motherland Uganda.
