Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis visits Greek Community of Tasmania
His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis visited the Greek Community of Tasmania and had a lengthy meeting with the members of the Board.
His Grace was accompanied by Reverend Father Dimitrios Katsis, Parish Priest of the church of Holy Trinity, Hobart.
From the outset His Grace on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia expressed his gratitude for the mutual respect and cooperation that exists since the establishment of the Archdiocesan District of Canberra.
In turn the Greek Community expressed their gratitude to the Archdiocese and His Eminence Archbishop Makarios for providing them with a priest to serve the spiritual needs of the area.
His Grace once again emphasised the importance of love and unity and any mistakes that occurred in the past must remain in the past and we must look forward, ensuring we preserve our faith, language and culture.
The Bishop then thanked the President of the Greek Community Mr Emmanuel Kalimnios and his Committee for their kind invitation to meet. Moreover, His Grace wished on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios a blessed Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New year.
