Bishop Ioan Casian visits Assumption University in Canada for future collaboration
On Tuesday, His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian of Canada visited Assumption University, a Catholic institution in Windsor, Ontario, to discuss potential collaborations and partnerships in light of the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea.
During his meeting with John Cappucci, President of Assumption University, the two discussed global Christianity and the challenges Christians face in Canada.
At the end of the visit, President Cappucci introduced Bishop Ioan Casian to the university’s faculty and presented him with a copy of Pope Francis’ encyclical letter “Laudato Si’”.
Historic Catholic Institution in Canada
Founded in 1857 by the Society of Jesus, Assumption University is one of Canada’s oldest Roman Catholic institutions of higher education. The university is affiliated with the University of Windsor and continues to play a key role in religious and academic discourse in the country.
