Bulgarian tourism minister visits historic Bachkovo Monastery

Bulgarian Tourism Minister Mariana Nikolova this week visited the Bachkovo Monastery of Dormition of the Holy Mother of God, one of the oldest Orthodox monasteries in all of Europe, which was founded in 1083.

The specific ministry has over the past few years promoted religious tourism and pilgrimages to the predominately Orthodox Christian nation, with Nikolova visiting several historic monasteries and cathedrals over the recent period.
