Church of Antioch Exarch in Moscow asked if Patriarch John X will attend Amman meeting called by Jerusalem Patriarch

The Metropolitan of Philippopolis, His Eminence Nifon, a representative and Exarch of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East at the Moscow Patriarchate, this week referred to a Pan-Orthodox assembly being convened next week in Amman, Jordan, by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos III.

When asked if the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, His Beatitude John X, would attend the meeting, Metropolitan Nifon said there was no information at present, merely adding that “…I believe he is considering it”.

It is noteworthy that the Church of Antioch had broken off Eucharistic communion with the Patriarchate of Jerusalem over a contentious disagreement regarding which Patriarchate has canonical jurisdiction for an Orthodox archdiocese in the Gulf State of Qatar.
