The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem on Tuesday was removed from UNESCO’s list of endangered world heritage sites, following extensive restorations at the Holy Site.

The Church was named as a UNESCO world heritage site in 2012 and placed on its endangered list the same year due to its poor condition.

UNESCO said Church and Palestinian authority officials have overseen high-quality work to restore roof, exterior facades, mosaics and doors.
