Church today commemorates virgin martyrs Menodora, Metrodora, and Nymphodora
The Church today venerates the memory of the virgin martyrs Menodora, Metrodora, and Nymphodora, who lived in northwest Asia Minor in the fourth century.
The three sisters chose to live in a remote location in order to spend their days in fasting and prayer. The local Roman governor had them arrested after reports reached him of the ill being healed as a result of their prayers. They were tortured and executed after refusing to renounce their faith.
