Congratulations by Gen-Sec of Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy to six US Representatives of Greek descent

The general secretary of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, Greek MP Maximos Harakopoulos, has addressed congratulatory letters to six US House of Representatives of Greek descent.

Democrats John Sarbanes in Maryland, Charlie Crist in Florida, Dina Titus in Nevada and Chris Pappas in New Hampshire were all re-elected, as was the up until now sole Republican, Florida’s Gus Bilirakis.

Another Republican, Nicole Malliotakis, was elected for the first time in her home state of New York.

Among others, Harakopoulos said Athens hopes that the six will support efforts of the upcoming Biden administration to protect the rights of Orthodox Christians in the wider east Mediterranean.
