Cyprus ambassador conveys congratulatory letter by island republic’s president to new Archbishop of Australia

The new Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, received Cyprus’ ambassador to the country, Fotis Fotiou, at his office in the Archdiocese’s seat in Sydney, with discussions revolving around time issues and, as expected, on the course of the Cyprus problem.

Additionally, Amb. Fotiou presented His Eminence with a congratulatory letter from Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades on the occasion of Makarios’ enthronement as the new Archbishop of Australia. The top diplomat noted that the president of the island republic wanted his congratulations to be presented in the most official manner, and not by post.
