Metropolitan Hilarion meets with delegation of Palestinian Supreme Presidential Committee for Churches’ Affairs

On May 22, 2019, the Day of the Translation of the Relics of St Nicholas the Wonderworker from Myra of Lycia to Bar, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at the church of Our Lady the Joy to All the Afflicted-in Bolshaya-Ordynka, received a delegation a delegation of the Palestinian Supreme Presidential Committee for Churches’ Affairs led by Minister Ramzi Khouri, at the parish house. The delegation also included Archbishop Christophoros of Kyriakoupolis, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
The sides discussed the bilateral relations, defense of the Christian presence in the Holy Land and through the Middle East, as well as today’s problems encountered by the Palestinian people.

Taking part in the meeting was also Ye. A. Bakhtin, DECR secretariat for inter-Orthodox relations.
