DECR Vice-chairman meets with Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s chargé d’affaires ad interim

On 10 February 2020, Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), met with Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s chargé d’affaires ad interim, Mr. Amjad Al-Momani. Participating in the meeting were also Mr. Rateb Allaham, staff member of the embassy, and Mr. Yu. A. Tsyganok, DECR staff member.
They discussed matters of mutual concern, in particular, prospects for the development of pilgrimage to the place of the Baptism of the Lord on the Jordan River and other holy places and sights in Jordan.

In conclusion of the talk, both sides expressed readiness to continue developing relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and Jordan’s diplomatic mission in Moscow.
