Delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate visits the Patriarch of Bulgaria
On Thursday, 12 March, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, received in Sofia a delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate consisting of His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, and Archimandrite Aetios, Grand Ecclesiarch and Director of the Patriarch’s Private Office.
Participating in the meeting on behalf of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church were His Eminence Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop and Bishop Ioannis of Branitsa.
During the meeting, the members of the Patriarchal delegation conveyed the cordial fraternal greetings of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the Patriarch of Bulgaria and recalled the memorable moments of Patriarch Daniel’s peaceful visit to the Phanar in December of the previous year. The importance of mutual communication in the name of the unity of the Orthodox Church was emphasised.
The delegation also informed the Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church about the forthcoming celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the Patriarchal ministry and the 65th anniversary of the ordination to the diaconate of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, which will take place on the island of Imbros, the birthplace of the Patriarch.
