Divine Liturgy in Chisinau Metropolitan Cathedral on the 17th Sunday after Pentecost

4th October 2020, the 17th Sunday after Pentecost: Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and all Moldova celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Nativity of the Lord Cathedral in Chisinau.

The Sunday Gospel Reading (Matt. 15: 21-28) speaks about the healing of the Canaanite woman by our Lord Jesus Christ.

The dialogue between the Lord and this poor person teaches us true faith and deep humility. The woman entrusted herself entirely to the will of God. Although coming from a pagan culture, she showed deep faith in the power of the Only True God, giving a good example of faith to those who consider themselves selected people of God. In addition, the woman prayed Jesus for her only daughter, showing that healing her daughter, God shows true mercy to her own self.

Following this example, the Church has always prayed for all people, showing that the entire humanity is one body.

The Divine Liturgy was life cast on Moldovan National TV and Radio, with commentaries provided by Iulian Proca.
