Documentary on Elder Joseph the Hesychast nominated for 3 awards at LSFF – (VIDEO)
A documentary on the life and works of Mount Athos Elder Joseph (Iosif) the Hesychast has been nominated for three awards by the London Short Film Festival (LSFF), which is annually held in the spring in the UK capital.
The Elder Joseph the Hesychast, who reposed in 1959, was recently canonized by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
The short film has been nominated for best documentary scenario; for best actor, which in this case is Emmy-award-winning actor Jonathan Jackson in the title role; as well as special mention for the production and participation of Mount Athos monks in the documentary.
Due to restrictions in place for the coronavirus pandemic, the festival will take place over online, via the LGFF’s platform – similar to all such international festival in the coming season.
