A Doxology memorial service was held today, Thursday, at the historic Aghia (St.) Lavra Monastery in the northwest Peloponnese, along with a recreation of the oath-taking of the Greek revolutionaries in March 1821, considered as one of the milestones in commencing the Greek Revolution against Ottoman rule.

The Orthodoxia Νews Αgency live streamed both the service and the recreation of the event.

The panegyric sermon was delivered by the Archimandrite Fr. Eusebius Spanos, the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Lavra, while the Greek government was represented by Interior Minister Makis Voridis, with the presence of representatives of local and regional officials.
