Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I inaugurates int’l scientific con’f focusing on environment
The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Thursday inaugurated a 2nd annual international scientific conference focusing on the environment, entitled “Family and the Environment: Repercussions of Climate Change on the Family.”
The conference is being held at the Patriarchal Great School of the Nation in the Bosporus metropolis.
In a related development, His All Holiness had earlier received Greece’s health ministry general secretary, neurosurgeon Marios Themistocleous.

Additionally, the Ecumenical Patriarch on Thursday received the new consul general of the United States in Constantinople, Julie Eadeh.
Discussions revolved on issues affecting the Mother Church of Constantinople, the Greek Orthodox diaspora and the Orthodox flock remaining in Turkey.
Earlier, the US diplomat, who is an Orthodox faithful, visited and prayed at the Patriarchal Church of St. George.
