Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I to be received by President Biden at White House this month

A much-anticipated pastoral visit to the United States later this month by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, will include a meeting with US President Joe Biden at the White House, reliable reports states on Friday.

His All Holiness will also be received by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, a meeting that initially was not cited in any possible itinerary.

The Ecumenical Patriarch, amid a month that witnesses his 30-anniversary on the Ecumenical Throne of the Mother Church, will tour various parishes in the United States under the Archdiocese of America. His All Holiness will also officiate at the inauguration of the St. Nicholas National Shrine adjacent to “Ground Zero” in Manhattan.
