Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew performs Sanctification rite for preparation of Holy Myrrh

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, officiated at the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at the Patriarchal cathedral of St. George – a day earlier – on Holy Monday.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His All Holiness went to the canopy of preparation of the Holy Myrrh, in the presence of several Hierarchs of the Mother Church, the Patriarchal court and faithful, where he performed the Sanctification rite.

In the afternoon, the Ecumenical Patriarch officiated at the solemn Bridegroom Service.
