Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew receives former Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Tuesday received former Bulgarian prime minister Boyko Borisov at the Mother Church’s Phanar district see.
Borisov was accompanied by the Bulgarian ambassador to Turkey, Angel Cholakov, other diplomats and members of former’s delegation.

During the cordial meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed.

On behalf of the Bulgarian-speaking Orthodox community of Constantinople, the Ecumenical Patriarch awarded the former Bulgarian premier a special honor for his contribution to the renovation of the Church of St. Stephen Balatas.

Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon and Archimandrite Fr. Charalambos Nietzschev, the head of the Bulgarian-speaking community of Constantinople, also attended the meeting.
