Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew receives Metropolitan of Zambia Ioannis

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Tuesday received the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa’s Metropolitan of Zambia, His Eminence Ioannis, as well as the Church of Greece’s Metropolitans of Ioannina and Fthiotida, their Eminences Maximos and Simeon, respectively.

His Eminence presented the Ecumenical Patriarch with artwork depicting the Theotokos, the All-Holy Virgin Mary, created by an Orthodox parishioner in the Zambia diocese, using the eponymous stone found the southern Africa country. His Eminence referred to “…a gift by the children of Zambia – the Mother Panaghia to the Great in Christ Mother Church.”
