Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew receives visiting president of Austria’s National Council, Wolfgang Sobotka

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, this week welcomed the president of the National Council of Austria, Wolfgang Sobotka.
During the meeting, the Primate of the Mother Church and the Austrian leader had the opportunity to extensively discuss the ministry and initiatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, as well as other issues of mutual interest, especially the ongoing war in Ukraine.

After the meeting with His All Holiness, the president of the National Council of Austria and the rest of the Austrian delegation visited the Patriarchal cathedral of St. George, where they were given a tour by German-speaking deacon Ecumenios, regarding its history and the sacred relics preserved in the Church.
