Ecumenical Patriarch receives Government Delegation and children from Georgia

On Saturday afternoon, 18 July, children from Georgia and Abkhazia who are currently participating in the summer programme at the Patriarchal Camp on the Island of Prinkipo visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate at the Phanar. They were accompanied by the Camp Director, Mr Diamantis Komvopoulos, Archon Primikerios of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

The children were warmly received by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who also welcomed members of a governmental delegation from Abkhazia/Georgia. The delegation had come to express its gratitude to His All-Holiness for the hospitality extended to the children from their country at the Patriarchal Camp.

Also present was Archimandrite Elias Jinjolava of the Ecumenical Throne, who serves as the priest of the Georgian Orthodox community in Constantinople.

Earlier in the day, the children and members of the delegation attended Great Vespers at the Patriarchal Church of Saint George, where His All-Holiness presided over the Saturday evening service.
