The Elder Ephraim of Arizona reposed in the Lord on Sunday morning and he has left behind a prolific spiritual legacy.
The reposed Elder was a pioneer of Orthodox monasticism in North America, establishing several monasteries in remote areas, which subsequently flourished, in the worldly and spiritual sense.
According to reports, Ephraim participated in Saturday’s Church services and partook in Holy Communion.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11, with mourners from across North America and the rest of the world expected to travel to Arizona for a final farewell one of the most significant figures in contemporary Orthodox monasticism.
