Elpidophoros visits Bahamas to tour hurricane-ravaged areas
The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, arrived in the Bahamas this week for a visit to the Caribbean archipelago, for a pastoral visit to areas recently ravaged by Hurricane Dorian.
In leading a delegation from the Archdiocese, His Eminence celebrated a Divine Liturgy at the parish of the Annunciation of the Mother of God, in Nassau. He also toured areas which sustained extensive damage under the hurricane’s force.
In statements from the Bahamas on Sunday, the Archbishop said «…Today I am celebrating the Divine Liturgy with our Brothers and Sisters in The Bahamas. They have suffered so much since Hurricane Dorian struck the islands on Sept. 1st… I came to The Bahamas to bring a message of consolation and hope from their fellow Greek Orthodox in the United States. Pray with me for them!».
