Encyclical by Holy Synod to be read out Holy Metropolis of Edessa on Sunday, Aug. 1

The Holy Metropolis of Edessa, Pella and Almopias, in northern Greece, on Friday announced that due to the absence of Metropolitan Joel from the country over the past weekend, an encyclical issued by the permanent Holy Synod of the Church of Greece regarding the ongoing pandemic and its treatment with vaccinations was not read out in parishes throughout the Metropolis last Sunday, July 25.
Rather, the Holy Metropolis clarified, the encyclical will be read out to congregants on Sunday, Aug. 1.
