Feast Day celebrated at Cathedral of Archangel Michael of Panormitis Monastery on Symi

The Feast Day of the Archangels was celebrated with particular splendor on the small Dodecanese island of Symi, with hundreds of faithful on hand for a procession of the outsized and silver-laden wonder-working icon of the Great Herald Archangel Michael, leading to the courtyard and Cathedral of the Archangel Michael of Panormitis Monastery.

Symi residents have for centuries turned to the Archangel Michael of Panormitis for comfort and as a supplicant to God to alleviate their suffering and predicaments.

A feature on the Feast Day of the Archangels on picturesque Symi is posted today on the webpages of the Orthodoxia news agency.

A video is also posted showing the miraculous disappearance of the face of the Archangel from the wonder-working icon, as seen recorded on the eve of the Feast Day in 2008.
