Feast day of Nikitas the Great Martyr

The Church today venerates the memory of Nikitas the Great Martyr. This Saint was of high birth among the Goths beyond the Danube. He was taken by the pagan ruler of the Goths, and after being tortured, he was burned to death for his confession of Christ.
Today is also the feast day of Philotheos the Righteous.
